Hello to all,

I have been having a bronchitis/asthma attack for two
weeks now with non stop coughing and nothing seems to
work.

My doctor has me on Tessalon Perle and today is my
second day taking it and about two hours ago I started
hurting in my chest and back and don't know if this is
from the coughing as I was having a burning sensation
for a few days before this.  I am wondering if anyone
knows anything about this Tessalon Perle for cough as
what I am reading is rather scary and don't know if I
should go to the hospital (don't have money to do so)
or wondering if I can wait until morning and call the
doctor.

Any answer is appreciated and I do know none of you are
professionals and hold no one responsible I am just
concerned and hoping someone can help.

Thank you much

Tessalon Perles never helped me, but now I refuse them and any other cough
suppressant since I realize the cough is there to keep mucous from slipping
down into the lungs.  Perhaps some guaifenesen, which thins the mucous along
with plenty of water would help.  I have found some relief from that heaviness
with this med, which is now over the counter branded as Mucinex (I believe).
Otherwise, you should follow up with your doc  for some other treatment,
probably broncho spasm "rescue" inhaler for short term and cortico steroid for
the inflammation.  Hope this helps.
