I switched from Flovent to Qvar. They are the same basic drug, but
the Qvar has no CFCs and thee cannister emits a more gentle spray with
smaller particles. It's good in my case because I have shown a
sensitivity to some drugs' particle size (Advair, for example,
triggers an attack in me).
So, I take Forodil and Qvar instead of Advair.
Most almost everyone else, this won't be an issue and Flovent's a very
effective drug.
Good luck.

Peter,
I was on QVAR, caught a bad cold. My doc put me on Advair, started coughing a
lot more. Just went back to QVAR and it works fine. Glad I switched back

Well I'm still on QVAR and I now only take 1 puff twice a day instead
of 2 (like going from 80 to 40 strength), so I'm pleased and my doctor
is pleased. Pretty good drug for one I never heard of. Glad you're
feeling well.

My experience was that QVAR did not last as long, and to get the same impact I
had to do a lot more spraying. On the other hand, at the high dosages I have
to use, Flovent presents more of a problem of steroidal side effects.
