I woud appreciate hearing from anyone that uses Foridal as to any drawbacks.
The VA put me on Foradilmas Serevenr has been discontinued. They would
not issue me the Serevent diskus as the VA consired it to expensive.

Foradil in the US is a powdered inhaler.  Some people, including myself, cannot
tolerate these powdered inhalers.

I switched to Foradil when the Serevent MDI was discontinued.
Foradil works fine and has the advantage of immediate response
instead of having to wait 15 min as with Serevent.

Foradil has the disadvantage of being a powder using an
Aerolizer to administer; is bulky to carry the blister tabs, and
is best refrigerated. The package says once dispensed store at
20-25 deg [68-77 deg]; so don't carry around in a hot car.
Too bad its not available in a Turbuhaler in the US.

Thanks Ellis for your adequate response.

It is getting very frustrating for those of us having problems with the
powders, while the rest of the world has the latest MDIs with the same basic
medicines allowed in the US.  For example, foradil and budesonide is being
combined in an MDI inhaler, so is advair, and they are available in Europe and
Canada.  A newer steroid just was licensed in England.  Anyone with the drug
companies or FDA connecting to this newsgroup mind saying how long it will be
before they are marketed here, and what is holding up the process?

The problem is "One size fits all."  Until consumers band together and
take these companies to court if necessary there won't be relief.
