I just had a nasty cold which made me cough severely. As a result, I
have severe soreness in the ribs, stomach, the upper back area, sore
neck, and something that seems like a sinus headache. Has anyone else
experience this? Should I wait to see how long it's going to last or go
to the doctor soon?

I had this last August. It was apparently a precursor to asthma, which
is the recent diagnosis. All told, the initial episode lasted about
six weeks and was characterized by a severe cough. It was first
diagnosed as bronchitis, then pneumonia. I've had periodic
recurrences, less severe, but including wheezing and shortness of
breath. Last week the doctor started talking asthma.

I just had a cold, cough and soreness like you describe that lasted about
two months. During the course of which my doctor put me on Qvar and
Salbutimal Inhalers. It has finally lessened but what a long time and yes
my ribs upper back and right below my shoulder blades are really sore.

==================
I've had chest soreness which felt like broken ribs after severe episodes of
asthmatic coughing.

It is possible to break a rib by coughing so it may have more than
just felt like it.
