I have been using Serevent for years.
But, for some time I have the feeling that I might be getting a side
effect from Serevent....getting more SOB than usual....
Two weeks ago, I was in ER and hospitalised for 8 days; only symptom:
more SOB. No coughing, no sputum, no fever, no bronchitis, no
pneumonia, heart OK....ALL OK except SOB....
After 8 days...feeling better....
Any one had something similar?

A world of Serevent side effects, including some serious ones, have been
reported on this NG and elsewhere.

What is the need for long-acting broncho-dialators like Serevent and
Advair anyway?  Albuterol and/or Atrovent work four to six hours or
slightly longer.   When their effect ceases, your lungs tell you whether
you need another dose.

If you do need to dose every four to six hours, your asthma is not under
control, is it?  More Flovent, Pulmicort, Qvar or whatever. (Or maybe
you have COPD or some other lung disease.)

For some of us our asthma is not controlled despite years of trying various
combinations of drugs. My asthma is classed as brittle, severe and despite
taking large doses of steroids both inhaled and orally, control is still
minimal. The serevent has been a great help and has allowed me to have a
more "normal" life.
