About a year ago my doctor diagnosed me with (what he calls) "mild
intermittent asthma". He placed me on Advair 100/50, which I now take in
addition to Allegra (for allergies). I'm 31.
However, it appears that simply mentioning the words "asthma" and "Advair"
to life insurance companies is enough to drive premiums up 40-50% or more.
It appears that many insurance companies don't draw any distinction between
those with mild asthma that's under control, and those who just had a severe
asthma attack last week.
So I was curious, does anyone know of life insurers that are a little more
tolerant of clients with asthma, especially mild asthma? (preferably rated
A+ or better by A.M. Best)
Thanks!

I've actually never had exactly this problem. I have had companies limit
the amount they would sell me, but not even char recently (or maybe I
just haven't hit the limit). This may be because I'm a little older and
that my asthma is long standing, thereby demonstrating that it doesn't
pose in imminent danger, I suppose.
I do often get asked to do an additional physical.
