Hi,

Can steroids cause permanent moon face?

I first developed it when I was on Azmacort in 1995-96. In 1996, my
doctor switched me to Flovent for insurance reasons. The switch was
abdrupt, as far as I can recall, and not tapered. I used Flovent till
1998.

I have been off all asthma medication for the past 5 years, but I
still have the moon face. Can these steroids cause such long lasting
facial edema? Or is something else to blame? What is the prognosis?

Thanks,
Tripurari
