I have a question about the HFA Cannister--I just refilled my
prescription with the new cannister and it has 200 metered doses. OK,
the literature says to prime the cannister 4 times before using it for
the first time (new cannister). Doesn't this take away 4 puffs you
would usually need and would substract from the 200 metered doses?

Sort of- the idea is that the first few puffs of a new cannister (or
one that hasn't been used in a long time) may not deliver the normal
amount of medication. If you are going through it fast enough for this
to matter then you probably need to be having a different
conversationw ith your doc.

No, I am not going through a canister often, just ordered and received
a counter that fits on top of the canister to count the doses and have
it set to 200 metered doses.  With the old canister before they made
it HFA, I was able to hold it in my hand and feel the weight of it and
it maybe my imagination, but it feels different in weight. Lighter.

Would you mind saying where you got the counter and how much it cost?

Thanks for the link.  I think for $30 I'll just keep marking my puffs on
sticky label stuck on the dispenser.
