Has anyone had good results with the drug XOLAR?

Me again. Yes, I was taking injections of this for eight months with no
appreciable difference. I am told that it works well for some (as do the
leukotriene blockers), but alas, not for me. If your insurance will cover
it, it might be worth trying; otherwise, it is quite expensive. The cost
may be less than when I was taking it four years ago, but at that time, it
was $1100.00 a week.
You should know that there is (at least statistically) an increased
incidence of parotid and other malignancies with Xolair, so that
risk/benefit calculation is something that can be worked out with your
doctor.

I have been on Xolair for 3 years. Yes, it does work for me. But
bear in mind it is for allergic Asthma. You doctor needs to do an IGE
test to see if you would beneft. IGE is what causes the allergic
reaction and Xolair blocks it.
I used to be allergic to smoke, of all types. I had night time asthma
attacks. I now sleep through the night. We had a wildfire and I was
able to go outsde and breathe smoke (I know it is bad but was never
able to) and did not have an ashma attack. A lot of things do not
bother me any more. I do not take an antihstamine as much anymore nor
do I take many steroid inhalers
However, it can take 5-7 months before you start to see the real
benefits.
