I have, from time to time, excessive mucus production which seems to
settle in my throat. It has the consistancy of egg white and is quite
irritating. I have, in the past, just cleared my throat a lot. I
used Alubutural with my nebulizer to stop the mucus. I have read some
Wikapedia articles about the smooth muscle that is stimulated and then
you have a mucus producing reaction. My bronchial tubes do NOT close
up like in asthma. The mucus is just an irritating sensation that
fills my throat. The positive is that the nebulizer treatment works.
In past situations, I would be more succectible to an upper
respiratory infection.

It sounds like COPD. Are you under a doctors care?

I am under a doctors care. He has ruled out COPD because there are
not enough symptoms. I use all the same medications that a COPD
patient uses to get my sunuses and bronchial tubes to stop secreting
excessive mucus
