I used 2 puffs 2x/day of Pulmicort for maybe 12 yrs, then suddenly I
couldn't find a place that supplied it, and no one could tell me why.
So I go to my doctor, and she was puzzled too. So she prescribes QVAR
80mcg, 2 puffs 2x/day. She said it was almost "the same" as Pulmicort.
Indeed, my lay research shows that it is almost the same.

Four days in, and I woke up today with a headache, just feeling kinda
lousy but not so lousy I can't go about my day. Sorta like a hangover,
only I hadn't had anything to drink the night before. Minor flu-like
symptoms. Not only a headache - and I hardly ever get headaches - but
a sort of malaise all day long. 18 hrs later I still feel it.

I read the package insert. Headache is the number one side effect.
After reading numerous websites, it also seems that MAYBE I don't need
to take as much??? I will definitely ask my doc on Monday about this.

I miss my Pulmicort.

Anyone else have any negative reactions to QVAR? And what happened?

My first and only experience with QVAR was poor. Don't know why...maybe
the different propellant or a different component of it, but my GP gave
me some as a trial to see what would work for me.  I tried it and it
basically induced a moderately serious attack in me.

YMMV
