Hello All,
I have tried Advair and I'm not sure whether this is it coincidence but my
face has become clustered with pimples, especially on the forehead and in
the beard area...Then I stopped taking Advair suspecting it was the cause of
this sudden condition and after a couple of weeks off the Advair, my skin
started to clear out so I told my doctor about it then he gave me something
called "Symbicort" which is also another type of powder inhaler but the
forehead pimples came back so I'm still not sure this could the cause. My
doctor tells he's never heard of these products causing skin rashes (which
look more like pimples)??? But rashes are listed as a potention side effect
on the medicine documentation.
So I now got off the symbicort and am simply using a generic inhaler but my
ashtma is not getting any better...
Wondering if anyone else has experience similar symptoms?
Thanks in advance,
Franc

Acne (pimples) is not a common side effect of inhaled steroids but it is
commonly seen with oral steroids so the two may be related. Some treatment
options would be to treat the pimples as a separate issue with acne
medications (mostly creams etc.), ad another agent to reduce the dose of
steroid (like Singulair, Serevent, or theophylline), or to keep trying
different steroids to see if there is one you don't react to. Of course, it
always in helpful to look for triggers in order to decrease the need for
meds.
