You just love good ol propaganda and buy into everything said with no
further research into the matter required!  Fact is almost all cars sold
today are 50 state emissions qualified.  The article would have you
believe that only 7 states follow California's strict emissions laws.
It also leads you to believe that auto manufactures produce a multitude
of models based on different states laws.  That was true back in the
70's but not so today.  I just bought a new truck.  It is 50 state
emissions qualified and I'm not in one of the states referred to in the
article.  The car in question is legal to sell in most states despite
the claims otherwise.

Thats not true, my whole being is based on getting facts and true picture of
things.I ran this by a few groups and specifically asked about its
potential.

This article has little in it thats true.  The vehicles it mentions are
available in most states.  The entire basis of the article is fiction
and meant to drive those that lack knowledge nor will do any research to
jump on their political band wagon.

The article mentions that the new Nissan Altima Hybrid is only available
in California or one of 6 other NE states that follow California
emissions laws.  This is a complete fabrication.  The Altima Hybrid is
available in most states.  Dang propaganda at its worst!!

Well my contentions were more into finding out why these cars are not pushed
more considering in  states like mine where we have had 31 good days of air
all year . Today our particulate pollution averaged near 70 while at least
half the nation had clean air oh well.

They are pushed but it can't be instantly mandated as you seem to want.
Consumers must drive the change through their own spending.  They are
available in your area.  The manufactures would love to sell as many as
they can.  Several dealers online websites for your area tout these cars
specifically.  You keep touting this big conspiracy of how nobody is
saying this or that.  Fact is public demand for lower mpg (and lower
pollution) automobiles is strong and growing.

As for mandates there are plenty but it does take time for the consumer
to adjust.  I just bought a diesel that is the first in the USA to meet
the new EPA regulations that will become law in 2010.  Cost $1000 extra
just for the emissions controls and provides little else to the consumer
other than lower emissions.  Already diesel at almost all USA stations
is now ULSD (ultra low sulfur) as a result of mandates.
