Hi guys,

Is anyone old enough like I am to have take Myrax for asthma?

I took this med as a kid and am trying to research it -- I am assuming
it was a form of theophyllin like everything else, but I cannot find a
single thing on it.

I took it, so I must be as old.  Might have been Marax.  In any event,
it had theophyline, perhaps ephedrine, and phenobarbital or a
tranquilizer to offset the speediness of that combination.

Here in Australia we have different names for just about everything --
but I still take Nuelin (one of our brandnames for theophyllin) if the
ventolin (salbutamol) and beclaforte (a steroid) aren't working. Even
in hospital I've found a theohyllin drip about the best relief drugs
going.
Going way back I remember from my childhood hideous bright yellow
tablets I had to put under my tongue -- they were described as a
homologue of adrenalin -- and also had a liquid version of the same to
puff through a glass atomiser with rubber bulb. Ah, those were the
days ------
