I am fortunate not to have brittle asthma - but most of us here have
to deal with people who don't get it.

Welcome aboard.

I'm a brittle asthmatic, currently on 5mg of prednisone to control it
through
our humid high mold summer.  As per doctor's orders (Cleveland Clinic
Pulmonary Center Director) we are heading west as soon as we can get
this house ready and sold.
I feel MUCH better in Arizona.

5mg of Pred?  That is not enough to control your asthma but enough to
cause side effects.  You really need to get a second opinion.

The prednisone has been increased to 10mg after a couple of weeks on
5mg didn't control my asthma.  As for second opinions, I see a very
good pulmonary specialist.  What are your credentials?

I am somebody who had an idiot doctor put me on 5 mg of pred for 6
months.  BTW, I had to taper for 1 month and that was no fun.

It's a terrible responsibility - but somebody has to be the Americans.

My asthma has been classified as brittle, but I do not take Prednisone
because I'm allergic to it.
