Why would the Department of Justice want to close upcoming vaccine
damage trials to the press and the public?

They've generally always been closed since the court was setup in 1986
and the courts budget reaffirmed in 1996.

The results of the trials are released at their conclusion. Maybe they
dont want mass spreading of rumors before facts are established? I
don't know why but its the way its been since 1986 and better than the
system used prior to that.
