I had a bout of asthma, and after two weeks of off and on bouts with it, my
lower esophogus got sore.
I have GERD over the years, but this appears to be irritation from the
constant post nasal drip and asthma
issues. Anyone experience similiar symptoms?

My entirely subjective experience is that coughing (or just working hard
to breathe) can cause these sorts of symptoms.

Are you allergic to mold? I had a sore throat for 2 1/2 years. I am not
exaggerating I truly had it that long. My doctors thought it was acid
reflux, but the sore throat never went away. I spent those 2 1/2 years
seeing my family doctor, my allergist, an acid reflux specialist, and even a
cardiologist. Finally my allergist redid all my allegy tests and my molds
were off the chart. I also found I was allergic to wheat, milk, peanuts and
more. So now I am on a mold free diet because mold in/on foods was
contributing. She put me on Singulair at night and the first day I took it I
woke up without a sort throat. I can't tell you how happy I was to have that
sore throat gone. When I am irritated with my other allergies or am exposed
to mold it does come back, but at least I finally know what was/is causing
it.

Almost certainly due to any steroid inhalrs that you might be taking. I
have to take ranitidine to stop this same problem that you describe.

Interesting as I did not have the esophogus flareup until I started an
inhaler and a steroid based nasel spray. It appears to have fried my
esophogus. I am on Nexium to calm it down. I have had GERD flareups in the
past, but no bad ones for several years.
So it seems interesting that the asthma combined with the inhaler/nasel
spray did a flareup. Hopefully it is just the meds that casued this.
