For how long did you use Pulmicort? It takes at least a few weeks
before the full effect appears.

I quit Asmanex and switched to Pulmicort(which gave me no side effects
at all).
Within 2 weeks my lungs were filling up and had troubles breathing. (ex
ray confirmed)
Seemed like Pulmicort was not doing much at 200mcg twice daily. (max
dose, apparently)
I really wanted the Pulmicort to work as it did not affect my voice,
but i got worse by the day.

No - interactions. I think the pharmacist was just letting you know that
usually the Qvar would be to replace the Flovent, not in addition to it.
Why not just give the Qvar a try (including adequate time and titration up)?

Yes, that was the plan, but expecting the worse, which seems to be the
norm lately with this situation.
If you are on a steroid and switch, is it like "starting over from
scratch"? Or does the new steroid basically take over and your relief
is continued?
This answer would probably help others, too.
Thanks.

No, it shouldn't be like starting over. They are all binding tot he same
receptors.

Thank you VERY much. This info is good to know and MUCH appreciated.
Is 80 mcg bid of qvar about the same as 220 flovent bid?
The way I read it, the equal dose is more like 320, or so mcg daiily
dose.
