It's not asthma?

My kids have been treated for asthma for years.  It's never been controlled.
This year, I started checking DS's peak flows and keeping a diary for him.
He has attacks once a month, sliding quickly from yellow to red over a week
and then another week to recover.  He lives more than half his life in the
yellow zone.  Even at the peak of the curve when he's well, he often
straddles the yellow zone.  He's been on a myriad of treatments, including
high dose inhaled steroids.  Nothing is working.  The asthma specialist says
they don't have asthma, because nothing is working and they are always sick.
I was telling her the bouts are once a month, like clockwork, and I asked
her, "Asthma isn't like that?"  She said no.  So, does this sound familiar
to anyone?  We are scheduled for all sorts of tests.  We've ruled out
allergies and immune deficiency so far.  DD is on Zantac and Flovent, and
she still coughs every night, though I don't see a full blown attack ATM.

Members of your family could have what's called infectious
asthma, which is asthma caused by bacteria.  There are a lot of
studies on this, and one of the markers is that medication does
little to help them.  Another is they're sick all the time.  Even
a cold ends up with a secondary infection, like bronchitis or a
sinus infection.

More than three years ago, I was treated by a doctor who
discovered the link between asthma in some patients and bacteria.
I've been asthma free and off meds since that treatment, which
required a twelve week round of antibiotics taken once a week.
Prior to that, I suffered with asthma for more than 30 years.  My
son has since been treated for his exercise induced asthma, and
he's off all meds for almost three years now.  I know several who
have been treated and had their asthma improve greatly or
completely resolve.

Email me and I'll provide you with links to studies you can show
your doctor.

I've heard of this.  They've been on all sorts of antibiotics like
amoxicillin, Augmentin, Zithromax, erythromycin, Septra.  Shouldn't those
have attacked the asthma bacteria, if there were any?

No, and in some cases, it makes it worse because you're not
taking it at the right dose for the correct period of time, and
it comes back with a vengeance.

The macrolides that work are Biaxin/Clarithromycin, which takes
forever - like a nine months to over a year, and Azithromycin,
which acts quickly.  Unless you take the Azithromycin using Dr.
Hahn's protocol, which is 500 mgs for three days in a row,
followed by weekly doses of 750 mgs for a total of twelve weeks,
you're not going to eradicate the bacteria.  I was on those
antibiotics five or six times a year and it didn't matter.

I swear those doctors THINK they know EVERYTHING.

yes, I do think asthma can do that.

it  can have its ups and downs, just like the pollen counts??? makes sense

I personally think because I live on a 30 acres of pine trees and with the
weeds, etc. i probably am 80% in the yellow zone and i have to tell my
doctor today, that i really think it is my environment where i am that is
not helping but what can i do about it..

what am i suppose to do when i own the 30 acres of land that is making me
sick.??

I have been told too that my throat doesn't close up and that isn't asthma
either, last night the nurse told me that it could do that, so.....i am as
confused as you.

oh, i took my tests with a allergist, i end up with a breathing problem IN
his office and he blows it off and says, deep breath, when i needed my
inhaler. i am not happy when someone messes with my kids and my breathing
when i have come to death about it. i can't even trust the teachers at
school.

we've been taking vitimins hoping that keeps the bugs away but....
anyways, i will write later, have to run to an appt

The doctor is not saying asthma doesn't have ups and downs.  She's saying it
doesn't have a monthly cycle, the graph isn't supposed to look like a sine
wave.  I can tell by looking at the calendar when the kids are supposed to
be sick next.

Sounds Like ,,Looks Like, Doctors are set in their way of doing business.
They become comfortable in their practise and close their mind to other
programs. Sorry to say but they believe what the FDA mails them to be
true. But do they relay the info to you? LIke Hypertention is not effected
by salt.. Calcium helps prevent over 100 ailment and diseases. kidney
stones is really a sign of Lack of calcium in your bones.
You can't depend on 2 doctors opinions.
Do a search on cellfood and Nu-science.
