Are there any studies about perfume triggers for asthma?

A young lady I know had to be taken to the hospital the other day
because an ignorant person sprayed perfume all over the damn room. (no
not me I'm allergic too!).

After speaking to people it seems like we get half who are for the
perfume and fragrance ban and the other half who want to assert their
hoomin rights and keep spraying away.

I guess this goes with the territory. The only people who really
understand the seriousness of our medical conditions seem to be those
who have seen family or friends have asthma attacks. In other words,
they've seen someone who COULD HAVE DIED.

TIA,
~Melanie

One of the biggest problem places to be when you have respiratory
problems is in a church during a service.  What you have is a
combination of some people dousing themselves with perfume, others with
aftershave.  You also will find traces of dry cleaning fluid, moth
balls, hair spray, and any number of other chemicals that are
outgasssing from peoples cloths, hair, and skin.  I have always had
proplems with my sinuses and with drowsiness while sitting in a church.

I probably got my migraine from being in church(one time during xmas) and
smelling all that between my allergies, asthma and then getting a
migraine.....the throwing up one.
ugh
don't worry you are not the only one falling asleep in church.

squirt you with perfume when you pass by.  I hate that.

Yeah, I have idiots at work that think that asthma is psycosomatic.I have
been battling for over a year to get people to understand that asthma is a
real condition, Yet they feel that it is a harmless attractant. If they are
married and go to church, why do they need to attract anyone. No, I don't go
to church, because I can't worship if I am wheezing. I have also been called
disruptive in church, because I am wheezing. I am tired of the selfishness of
the perfume wearers.
