I am sorry for that stupid question, but I am really confused. My son
sometimes wheezes when he sleeps ( perhaps one or twice a night ),
sometimes cough at night ( one time several nights ), but he still
sleeps very well. He does not wake up, does not cry ... At day time, he
runs and plays well.

I read some web sites, they all list the asthma symtoms but I could not
find a site say how much wheeze, cough is considered may have asthma.

Thanks for your advice,

DT

No question is stupid, and its always good to ask....
But the question you ask does not really have an answer, I know because I
ask my sons Dr. that also when he was very young. You could get 20 answers
here and none of them may be wrong, because every situation is different,
with that being said.........
a few questions
Does he wheeze at all during the day? how does he do when he gets sick with
say the flu, a cold, does he have allergies, any history with having to be
put on rescue meds when he was sick. My son wheezed a lot in his first year
while he was sleeping, but he also wheezed badly when he was sick with
anything, they called it cold induced asthma, he went on to be dx with
asthma in his second year. The doctor told me they could not technically dx
him with asthma until he had so many episodes.
There could be a few different things causing noisy breathing at night (are
you sure its wheezing) , his sinuses, allergies, adenoids, reflux. Have you
talked to his doctor? what do they think
How old is he? I know I have become more intuned with my son's breathing now
but I used to have a hard time telling if he was wheezing or had mucus some
were in-between, sometimes its hard to tell with kids.
