Hi All,

I'm a newbie with all of this stuff. I saw my first pulmonary
specialist the other day. I am having surgery on Monday and worried
about it. Last time I had surgery the swelling in the tissue in my
abdomen from the laproscopic surgery caused my asmthma to flare, and
it's already flared now due to a very heavy smoker moving in under us.

He gave me Advair and Flonase to use. He feels the Advair will get me
in better shape for the surgery. My GP had me using Areobid, which
seemed to be helping.

So I used it yesterday and I had increased mucas it felt like to me.

I don't want to mess around with this.

My experiece better Advair.  Pulmicort the other top option.

Aerobid gave me quite a bad time some years ago.  But that's me.
Everyone different.---Jack

You are not alone.  When my lungs are really irritated I can
hardly manage to inhale the Aerobid; quite often simply cough
it out immediately.  I have had no problems with Flonase nor
with Advair.  Right now waiting to go outside of the VA formulary
and try QVAR.  We shall see, but no more Aerobid, please.

Hey,
I took Advair for the last 5 years and I would have to say that in the
end it actually made my asthma worse than when I started it. I think
the drug Serevent which is in Advair caused me to have increased mucus
in my lungs and bronchi.
I just had my doctor switch me to ASMANEX and I couldn't be happier.
