It seems your brains fell out and have been masheq'd, solea-ly but

Can anyone be bothered to do a "seek an destory" on this prick (sorry
ladies)?

....Clues seen too obvious.

Wanna make your self useful Dave?

To blame Dave for this posting shows a lack of character on your part.
Typical.

Jim - don't you start on me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My irritation was genuine!

My sole (reason for the specific) reference to Dave was that of the recent
A.S.A "mega posters" he was/is the only one to be/admit to be involved in
computing in "his day job". Hence trawing through the headers of the
offending post - real and spoofed , hence working out which abuse@.... etc
to persue would be closer to his own skill-set!

In my time zone its getting late.... - which bit of of my post do you have a
problem with? Which bit do you wish to enter into a futile argument about?

Tired & irritated! - Pete

p.s. Jim - go back and re-read my post - just WHERE do I blame Dave?

It was clear to me that you were asking Dave to look into it for the group.
Apparently it was not clear to all.

There isn't much that is "clear" in this newsgroup, besides the
obvious fact that we all have such kind and sympathetic feelings
towards each other.   And we're all so dedicated to finding and
propagating new and improved treatments for asthma, no matter whether
these agree with current medical orthodoxy or not.  NOT.

Regarding "seek & destroy" missions (as Immuno put it), the only "seek
& destroy" mission I've done lately is to nuke my asthma.  It's never
been part of my job to serve as "Internet police".

I can tell you one thing about "Bob", however.  I am forever in his
debt for pointing out the error of my ways by top-posting.  Thanks,
Bob, for that, but not for your goofy "Your lung fell out" post.

Just after I posted, I realized that Bob was NOT the one who wrote the
goofy "Your lung fell out" post.  My apologies, Bob, and I truly am in
your eternal debt for the top-posting tutorial.

Well, this Carl Philtmoon fellow (the TRUE author of "Your lung fell
out") truly is a creative individual, but perhaps lacking in the
gonads department.  After a quick search, I have discovered that his
penis is too small:

Could this explain why his lungs apparently have fallen out?  :)

We all are interested in propagating new and improved treatments.
However, some of us are less impressed by hype than others.

Basically, anything that is proven to work becomes part of 'orthodox'
medicine.

Personally, my attitude on the 'antibiotics for asthma' idea is that I
am going to wait for more convincing scientific evidence.  At the
moment it is little more than a theory.

BTW: You haven't a distant clue what you're talking about.  In fact, you
couldn't get a clue during the clue mating season if you stood in the
middle of a field of horny clues, smeared your body with clue musk and
did the clue mating dance.

As far as I am concerned, it has already been proved to work FOR ME.
And guess what, if it worked for me (and Jim Quinlan, and NSCEO, and
Joy, etc.), then it will work for many, many others who have this type
of asthma.

>Personally, my attitude on the 'antibiotics for asthma' idea is that I

The studies done thus far are small, but they make this more than a
theory.  Once the anecdotal evidence is added, it's  A LOT MORE THAN A
THEORY.  Calling it "little more than a theory" is precisely the sort
of stubborn thinking which makes this treatment largely unavailable
from MD's in a number of countries.  In the mean time, while people
like you are waiting for the "final word" from the researchers, many
people are suffering and some are dying because conventional asthma
medicine only treats their symptoms, and poorly at that.

Did you take lessons from CBI?  You betray what a nasty person you are
in this stupid remark.  And if you think that it's somehow funny, I
would hate to see which comedians you like.

Looking at some of Colin's other recent posts, it appears that the
"you haven't a distant clue" crud appears to actually be his
signature.  If Colin's computer is infected with some bizarre virus,
he needs to kill it off.  OTOH, if it's his brain that's infected, I
don't know what to suggest.

Yep, more win the argument with ridicule stuff. Or rather, if you can't win
the argument any other way, resort to it.

You could use your feminine skills and make it appear to be his
idea...after your surgery when you need some R&R?

Bummer, No feminine skills. But R&R taking care of my sister with cancer

Actually, I would.  Hype is anything that promises more than the
current evidence suggests it can deliver.

Has it occurred to you that you are showing signs of being a 'true
believer' - and thus no longer a reliable source of information on the
subject?

BTW: You haven't a distant clue what you're talking about.  In fact, you
couldn't get a clue during the clue mating season if you stood in the

I didn't have the luxury of calling this "hype".  I took a leap of
faith, and it paid off handsomely for me.  You, on the other hand,
don't seem to be willing to take such a risk.  It may not be
worthwhile because your disease is already well-controlled.  It may
not be worthwhile because you don't have the same type of asthma that
I have had.  Only you can decide.

Taking risk is a part of life.  Every day, you and I make decisions on
what risks to take, and what to not take.  Since it's your health and
your life on the line, you are the only one who should decide.  Not
your doctor(s), not me, just you.

Gee Colin I have to agree with Dave on this one. And the difference is I am
not new to the newsgroup. I guess you don't believe me either. Or
Northshore. Who will you believe?

Gee thanks and I thought you didn't care.
Richard - 30 Sep 2003 02:29 GMT
Why everyone else clued in on google being the source is beyond me.  It is only
the source for his choice of posting.  If you read the headers carefully, the
best field is "NNTP Posting Host".  His was 217.234.255.56.

C:\>tracert 217.234.255.56

Tracing route to pD9EAFF38.dip.t-dialin.net [217.234.255.56]

Since that's obviously a dialin user, it may or may not be active at any given
time.  However, that ISP will surely be able to tell what user of theirs was
connected to that IP at the time of the original post.

I've done the legwork, now you can contact t-dialin.net with all the info from
the original post.  You should include the full headers for the original post.
They appear to be outside the US, so who knows if anything will be done.

Actually, you stopped prematurely, but maybe that's a result of using Tracert
instead of something else.  If you'd continued to dig you would have found the
originator is in Germany (with all due respect to Richard F.), uses Deutsche
Telekom AG for his/her internet provider and complaints about abuse should be
sent to:

abuse@t-ipnet.de

Ah, the finely honed sense of humor that only an 8 year old can possess.
You should try to get your grammar up from kindergarten level, though.

Gee...Went on a posting rampage, eh?  Lemme see...rec.sport.archery and a

Someone with a little technical know-how could do a nice back-track on this
one.

The message headers on his post show that he posted from Google
Groups.  That's a pretty anonymous way to post.  All that is required
to sign up with Google Groups is a functional e-mail address, in this
case it's a free e-mail address at Yahoo Hong Kong
masheg_solea@yahoo.com.hk.  (It has to be functional at the time of
signing up, but may no longer be functioning, and he/she may no longer
be reading it.)

The message headers do show the e-mail address to report abusive
posts:  groups-abuse@google.com

Given that he has posted some really nasty stuff (e.g.,
http://groups.google.com/groups?q=author:masheg_solea%40yahoo.com.hk&start=10&hl
=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&selm=26e9ab06.0309241032.455b71bf%40posting.google.com
&rnum=18
),
I think there is good grounds to report him to Google Groups.
