I took a friend who was Sob to the ER Friday and I want everyone to know
that WE WIN. If your x-ray indicates that you are infected with one of the
Pneumonias (*C or *M by characteristic infiltrates), FINALLY you will be
treated with Macrolides. I've only been fighting for 3 years, but there are
people out there with a decade of work (thank you JIM and Dr Hahn) to
finally stop adult onset asthma.

Take me down CBI. LOLOL. You lose. Hey man, you should have worked for CDC.
Maybe then you would have won.

Now...play nicely, you two...  ;-)

Uncalled for. Just like the other stuff. Do you recall Aroberts that Dr.
Preuss left due to this stuff?  No way I'm letting this bad attitude off.
Uncivilized behavior. Period. No apology accepted either. You know and I
know he knew what he was doing.

Belittling another adult whose ego is intact is pointless. You'd think he
could benefit from a Pych CME course.

I have been serious the last few times when I have said that your
recent posting has become incoherent and that I rarely understood what
you were talking about. I'm not trying to be cute or belittleing or
engage in, much less win, any kind of debate. I'm just pointing out the
obvious. I'm guessing that you have a lot going on in your personal
life that is causing you to spew venom here and to look for offense. I
am not the only one who thinks so. People who have tried to be your
friend in the past have expressed concerns.

The comment was not uncivil and it was the truth. It was short
precisely because I was not interested in getting into some big pissing
match with you.

In regard to your original post: I have no idea what you think anyone
has won or lost or what exactly you are claiming the victory about.
Using macrolides for the outpatient treatment of mild to moderate
pneumonia has been standard for decades. Are you saying the ER doc gave
a 12 week course? FWIW I have treated several patients with Dr. Hahn's
regimen (and have stated so here in the past) so I am  not really sure
how you figure I have lost anything.

As for the Preuss thing: Once again I really had no idea what you were
talking about. I had some vague recollection of the man so I did a
google search. What I found was that you have made that accusation
before. Interestingly, he has posted since at least one of your claims
that I drove him from the group so it apparently is not true at face
value. I did a search on his posts where I was mentioned and found one
exchange where we disagreed. Upon reviewing it he asked what he
described as a philosophical question and I gave what I felt to be a
philosophical answer to which he took offense (and I still think he was
not being resopnable about that). He apparently thought I was being
trite but I was totally serious. Other than that one exchange I found
plenty of threads where we were in complete agreement but no other
clashes.

If he really left the gorup over one disagrement then he couldn't have
been too committed to it in the first place. Surely two people can
disagree 1% of the time with neither being seen as unreasonable. FWIW
what he said at the time was that he was going away and that he may or
may not be back. He did post once after that in a thread where I was
not involved.

SOME so called "asthmas" are not asthmas.

That was Jim's original point, I think. It's mine, anyway.

Like Jim I was told I had asthma but I didn't. Jim's story helped me
but it will not help people who really do have asthma and not a
misdiagnosed infection.

www.asthmastory.com

Why is this semantic argument still happening here? Acually, it seems
they are calling what I and Jim had "infectious asthma", so there is a
clue.

In SOME adults with adult onset asthma an infection of Pneumonias (*C
or *M by characteristic infiltrates) is found. Macrolides fix their
'asthma" which was never asthma to start with.

I'm glad your friend was treated with the correct medicines to treat
her infection. Macrolides CANNOT cure asthma, they can only cure
infections that have been MISDIAGNOSED as asthma.

Many people who come to this group, like I once did, are looking for
advice to deal with their newly diagnosed asthma. Jim and Dr Hahn's
experience will help those who had infections, like I did, but for
those adults with true and proper adult onset asthma macrolides will
not help.

If you have an ifection of  Pneumonias (*C or *M by characteristic
infiltrates) proven by a blood test (as mine was) swallow them
macrolides and FAST! It doesn't even have to be the most expensive
macrolides on the market even. I found Rulide worked best for me. It
may not work that way for others.

Jim's story saved my life. When I read it, I *knew* I had what he had.
I had to push and push to get tested and when the results came back,
my Dr was amazed. I WAS infected though, many people reading this
group may not be.

Researchers would disagree with you.  They say it IS asthma, and
that asthma is caused by different things.  In those cases where
asthma was caused by bacteria, the asthma can be resolved once
the bacteria has been eradicated.  It's still considered asthma,
however.

Also, if you cut and pasted the original post completely, then
I'm confused by your last statement.  Unless the doctor in ER
treated the patient for twelve weeks on Azithromycin, or wrote a
script for nine months to a years worth of Clarithromycin/Biaxin,
then the doctor wasn't doing anything out of the norm and was
merely treating for an acute infection - the treatment for which
has been standard for years.
