Hi
I used to Beconase for asthma for years. Changed my life. Went overseas &
didn't get asthma as I was away from the pollen, cigarette smoke etc that
used to cause my asthma. Have returned to NZ ... & my asthma has returned,
too. Off to the Doctor. Got the Beconase. But it's not same! (And not as
effective for me). The Beconase that I used to use, was in a little
pressurised gas cannister that slotted into a beige dispenser. I had to
press it & inhale it through my nose. It would also go down, I guess, to my
lungs. What I have now is a white plastic squirt bottle that works on my
nose only.
Can anyone tell me if the original Beconase that I used to use is still
available (& what I have to ask for) - or what it's equivalent is?
Thanks in advance.

Hey Angie,
I remember that stuff....I was perscribed it when I was younger
(10-ish)but not for anything asthma related (I was only diagnosed with
asthma recently and I'm well into adulthood now). If memory serves, I
was on it as my nasal passages hadn't kept pace with the growth of the
rest of me and I had developed a very nasal voice....
If they are still using it for nasal problems, I can understand the
change (a mist so it stays in the nose) and with the advances in other
treatments for asthma, I doubt you'd find the old version out there
anymore.
I'd say find a local doctor who is well informed about asthma and
willing to work with you to meet your needs and then go from there.
Perhaps they can suggest some alternatives.

I don't believe it is available in the US anymore.
