Hi,
There is a new site which deals with recent research into asthma.  It
includes clinical trials, jobs, scientific literature, laboratories
studying asthma and much more. The site also ranks scientists which
study this disease. The URL is: http://www.asthmascience.org

Hope you find it useful...

Yes but this seems to be restricted to "asthma" as seen through the
biomedical lens. The biomedical model or approach is defined in some
Web sources as:

"The biomedical model of medicine, has been around for centuries as
the predominant model used by physicians in the diagnosis of disease.
The term is used [by some] in contrast to the biopsychosocial model,
which incorporates psychological and social factors.

The biomedical model focuses on the physical processes, such as the
pathology, the biochemistry and the physiology of a disease. It does
not take into account the role of a person's mind or society in the
cause and treatment.

This model is effective at diagnosing and treating most diseases. It
cannot be denied that it has been extremely useful throughout history
by establishing the reasons that a disease occurs, and in coming up
with very effective treatment regimes.

It is however very limiting. By not taking into account society in
general, the prevention of disease is omitted. Many diseases affecting
first world countries nowadays, such as heart disease and diabetes
mellitus are very much dependent on a person's actions and beliefs."

It cuts out consideration of, f. i., pursed lips breathing, an
extremely important asthma rehab method and biofeedback, which has a
scientific reputation. They are considered to be "alternative or
complementary" as a way of implying that medication is, mysteriously,
safer and more responsible.

Looks like you have hit upon a bit more pharma propaganda intent on
keeping to a restricted view of asthma.  Regards,  Richard Friedel

Please do a search for respiratory disease and pollution . There are a few
studies which I have not saved that showed that millions are dying or
suffering because of quality of air. I assume though if people don't care ,
then research will find ways to spend money on everything but doing anything
to counter that most important finding.
