You know that foods don't usually show up in the skin test. they don't
even bother at my doc except for peanuts, shellfish etc. The ones that
cause anaphylaxis most often. I had to do an elimination diet for the
food stuff. I showed a mild positive for the peanuts and the allergist
dismissed it as nothing to worry about until I get a "real" reaction
because the skin test is inaccurate.

Oh so you have had this result also. Interesting, so it is fairly common for the tests to be
off.
My sibling got allergies when near newly painted walls (skin reactions) also. The answer was
to avoid places with those conditions, but I'm sure you are looking for a better more
promising answer than that.

Never suffered any alergies in my youth or mature years. Only in the
past few years, along with emphysema.
I had exercise and stress induced asthma exclusively all my life from
adolescence on.
Now that I'm (really) sixty-nine I have to stay away from new
construction sites.
Just shopping a little over an hour and a half in Ikea (which is sort
of a Swedish K-Mart) lay me low a few months ago. My companion had to
help me onto a flat-bed hand truck and wheel me out of there, into the
fresh air where I recovered quickly enough.
Was it the the dust from the new merchandice?
I'd be scared to commit to a new apartment or house.---Jack
