Greetings,
Sorry if this question has been asked before but i'm somewhat of a
newbie here.  I was recently put on combivent 4x a day/4 puffs.  Is one of
the side effects typically make you jittery?  seems like about 30 minutes
after I take it i'm jittery and feeling really good...

thanks in advance
Bill

The answer is yes Combivent can make you jittery.  Four times a day is a
typical regimen but four puffs is twice as much as what is usually
prescribed.

Yes, it is probably the albuterol component. It is not uncommon to
give the ipatropium (Atrovent) component at a dose of 4 puffs but this
much albuterol is not normally given. You might want to ask the doc to
split it up into two different inhalers.

You could try either 4 puffs of Atrovent and 2 puffs of albuterol or
replace one with a long acting inhaler (Spiriva for the Atrovent and
Serevent for the albuterol) and use the other as an add on.
