I think my cough is getting better but I'm not sure about that. No
asthma symptoms today - a good asthma day. I took the bus as I woke
up late and I didn't feel like doing much walking today. Tomorrow
I'll do more walking. Since taking the SereVent along with the
Flovent I've really been feeling much better about myself. My
wheezing is to a bare minimum - non-existent and my asthma attacks
are rare now. Last week I didn't have to use my blue puffer at all
because I did not have an asthma attack for a change. All I have now is
my cough that won't go away. I breathe a lot easier and I don't
feel pain any longer when I breathe. How does asthma medication really
work? What makes it work the way it does? How did asthma medications
come about? Why is it that inhalers are the best way to deliver the
medicine? How was that discovered? Why is it when I get a prescription
for meds I get the med and then 2 refills? Why are 2 refills given
instead of an unlimited amount? Why is that so? How does the oral
steroid and bronchilator work long term to help improve asthma? Why is
there asthma around? Why do some people get asthma and other people
don't get asthma? So many questions to ask that need desperate
answers ASAP.

Last night I was coughing before going to bed. Today I have been
coughing as well. I am unsure if my cold is getting better or not. I
have been eating Ricola candy which helps my cough and helps me to
cough of phlegm. Other than that no asthma attacks, no wheezing, no
huffing, no puffing or out of breathing. I woke up late this morning
and left late for school. There was some heavy perfume this morning and
also hairspray but that went away when mommy left and I felt fine
again. SereVent and Flovent together have helped my asthma greatly.

A good day for me overall asthma wise. I've coughed all day long
because of my cold. When walking from Main & 24th - Langara College I
experienced no wheezing, huffing puffing, chest tightness etc. the
Flovent & SereVent combined really help my asthma and I look forward to
getting Advair Diskus so I don't have to use a spacer and  tow
MDI's all the time.

No asthma symptoms today. I've coughed all day long but only because
of m cold. Walking to TOPS was fine for me. SereVent & Flovent combined
together work wonders for me.

All day long I have been coughing - this cold is bothering me lots. I
woke up after 11am today and I cleaned house but I felt fine. At the
Martlews there was smoke from cigarettes which bothered me. No other
asthma symptoms.

Saturday March 26, 2005

Except for coughing all day long until my throat got raw no other
asthma symptoms were present today. I did go on a bus and in a shop
where heavy perfume smells made it hard for me to breathe properly but
that was short lived.

Sunday March 27, 2005

Coughed all day long because of this cold. I might even have a slight
fever but am unsure. I took both Flovent & SereVent today and am really
looking forward to going to Advair Diskus so I don't have to use a
spacer any longer. Was a quiet, low key day for me today of not doing
much of anything but watching TV & doing my embroidery ornaments in my
nightgown all day long. No asthma symptoms to really speak of today.
Will this cold of mine push my asthma action back ANOTHER two weeks?
Will I EVER recover from this blasted cold?

Do you take Atrovent?  It comes as a "puffer" (MDI spray)  and is
prescribed mostly as a bronchodialaor to complement your albuterol.
"Combivent"  is the combination product for the two.

Atrovent also does something else; at least for me it does.

It relieves, instantly, that dry, un-productive cough.

Many of us are now using Spiriva, which is a twenty-four hour version of
Atrovent.

But I still keep a canister of Atrovent specifically for dry
unproductive cough and for the reaction to coughing up liquid or a
particle of food that went down the wrong lane.
