1) Make sure it is asthma and not heart disease, reflux,
other lung diseases, panic attacks, etc.
2) Do all the things we normally do - avoid triggers , look
for other things, try different meds (I'm not familiar with
the last two on your list).

I feel this some times (and, DO have asthma), but, can also blow the end of
the spirometer off.
Could be diet--Splenda may cause symptoms like this, could be a hietal
hernia, could be medicines interacting. Do you have diabetes?

Weird thing about the devices that measure the lung strength, is that when I
feel tightness, I either get a normal output or next to it. Sometimes when
I have no tightness I get a sub normal output for the FEV. I don't get it
and it clearly frustrates my doctor as well. I live in Japan but my doc is
licensed to practice in PA where he did his residency.

Yep, same here.
I've been tested for heart problems, stomach problems (I do have GERD, but,
am taking the prilosec), and lots of other things...

Reason I asked, is I kinda think it may be a reaction with my Metformin that
I'm taking for diabetes.
Thanks.

Advair twice a day with albuterol as needed.

Sorry! I was being silly! I've been good... really busy making jewelry
and learning some new stuff (polymer clay). The asthma has been great
(!?!) if ya know what I mean... I had one ER trip awhile back and since
then have been fine! I think its the warmer weather etc.
Best of all, I have a new grandson... Zachary Phoenix. The calmest, most
easy going baby I have ever seen!

So, how have you been? Not working too hard are ya? :) Hope things are
going good for you now that spring is finally here. Its so nice not to
be breathing cold air!
take care!
Polly

Oh, wow--this is a really handsome boy. Your daughter is lovely,
too. I'm so happy for all of you.

Yep. Sounds like we are feeling similarly. Thanks so much for
sharing your grandson. Wow. He is already a heartstopper!

Don't forget Mary that Advair contains a steroid which would duplicate
the Pulmicort yea is already taking.

My doc stuck me with an IV and dumped some unknown cocktail into it. I am a
bit clearer now but I wish this thing would just go away. I am still
sucking down all the meds listed below but things are a little better. I
dont know how poor people could possibly afford this treatment.
