If you currently suffer from allergic reactions to horses but like to
ride or just be around horses without any problems, read on.
There is a unique breed of horses called the Bashkir Curly that is
truly hypoallergenic, even to people who suffer around other horses.
Curly horses have other wonderful qualities like excellent
temperament, excellent hard feet and hardiness.  They have been used
for a wide variety of disciplines, from dressage to hunter/jumper, but
they are mostly used as wonderful family and trail horses. I will be
more than happy to provide those interested with more info.

I am starting a Curly breeding program and would like to hear from as
many of you as I can regarding the type of horse you would like to
have.  Note: I am in Wyoming, but shipping horses across the country
is done all the time, so distance is not a big issue.

Several of you asked for scientific evidence that Curly's are
hypoallergenic.
The Curly horse hypoallergenic research was conducted at University
Aachen, Germany: "A student, Anne Spieker, and her professor, Dr.
Frank Jugert, are involved in researching and documenting just how
hypoallergenic Curly Horses are. They are testing a number of other
horse breeds for comparison. They are following exact protocol, in
order to determine if they can truly document a lower allergic
reaction to Curly Horses, compared to other horses."  (May 2000).

The study is now concluded with the following results:

"* YES North American Curly Horses ARE hypoallergenic
   * The reason they are hypoallergenic appears to be twofold:
        1. Different protein in the skin
        2. Less amount of proteins on the skin"

Apparently the data was so impressive that you felt compelled to share it
here.

Wait......

No, you didn't.

Never mind.

Provide the citation, not your characterization of it.
