i am 38 years old and i think i have  some signs of arthritis. i started
getting some bumps on my knuckles a few years back and now i get pain in
my knees. i get these pains especially before it rains. is there
anything i can do to prevent this from getting worse? i have an aunt who
has  it very severe.  is it hereditary? i read something about fish oils
being good for the joints.  does  fish oil work in pill form? would
appreciate any help you guys can give me.. thanks tom

See your doctor and ask for a referal to the rheumatologist.

That is good advice and when you see the RD, tell the doctor everything and
more than you have said here.   They do not read minds and anything could be
important.   Like,,,, doing a lot of walking in the woods----Lyme,,, is that
the way you spell that???  :-)   Please do not do  as most people do and
just let it go on and on.
The bumps could be nodules which are one of the signs of inflammatory
arthritis.  Inflam.arth. usually does get both sides of a person but one
side can be worse than the other as in both knees.   You have done the right
thing by asking.   Now, do the next thing and see an RD soon.
