Our son as swollen and painful knees and ankles for the last 4 weeks. It as
been diagnosed as restrictive arthritus. He is in a great deal of pain and
find it very hard to walk any great distance. He has had steroid injections
in both knees.

Does anyone know the prognisis for this ailment.

Has anybody any suggestions how to ease the pain. My wife saw Tens machines
advertised at the local chemist are these any good. All suggestions welcome.

Thanks

Hi,,,, My best suggestion is to see an RD,,,Rheumatologist.    I have been
dealing with RA for over 25 years and I have had 3 different Rheumatologist
,,,,,  I have been reading and posting on the internet for longer than that
and I have never heard of restrictive arthritis.
Tens machines are used when pinched nerves are involved to numb the
nerve section and actually cure nothing.   It is not normal for your son to
have what he has and he needs the best of help to keep from having life long
problems.
There is no easy way.   There is no cheap way.   Please see an RD and
find out what is actually taking place.
