Just had second knee replacement.  Few years ago 1st one went smoothly.
This has been a bear, mainly because they insisted I stop enbrel 4 weeks
before surgery, then had to postpone surgery one week, am now into 3rd week
afterward.  Can hardly use hands in morning and back killing me, hot/red
joints.  I did not count on this long without enbrel.  Dr said had a patient
on it and she got infection which they still have not gotten cleared up
after months and having to take out new knee.  I never had a problem with it
with all the surgeries I have had and wish now I had just gone some place
else.  tomorrow I go back for appt and am going back on enbrel even if they
do not say I can.  I am used to pain and no wienie but this has gotten to
me.  So if you are in my situation consider your choices before making up
your mind.

Good for you.    I would restart also.   You can not blame the doctors for
fearing infection and they do not know or understand how a person with RA
needs their DMARD.   The good news is that Enbrel catches up quick or it
does for me when I have had to stop for one reason or another.   What do the
doctors say about prednisone???
