Rosemarie Shiver - 02 Feb 2006 20:16 GMT There are worser problems here and my best healing vibes are going out to all that need them. This is a minor league whine; so if yer easily bored, skip this post. :-)
Had the endoscopy for the esophagus and stomach issues I have.( which turned out fine..no probs. found) The IV needle hurt like the Dickens going in, stopped hurting, then started up again. By the time Normie came home from work my forearm was swollen and it really really hurt. Next to no redness, tho'. Got ahold of the GI doc who said moist heat and elevate it.
Had a regularly scheduled appt.with my Internal Med. doc. GI doc had called him. Walked outta there with 'scripts for a Medrol dose pack and Keflex and I'm 'sposed to do Bendryl 3X a day! Holey cellulitis, Batman! And the surgi-center caused it. If they wouldn't put their sharp metal implement in my vein I wouldn't have this! :-(
I have a week to get this gone, under threat of going in the hosp. At least it's merciful somewhat on the guyz...if I'm snoozing under Benedryl I can't be homicidal from the dose pack. Or no more than usual, anyways.
Wish me luck, dear Gimps....I haven't had this thingy b4. I know it's a club no one wants to be in.

I spent a couple of days last week in the hospital getting IV medrol and am now "tapering" off at home. I'm fine. Family not so much. But a girl's gotta breathe and they brought home the stinkin cold/virus that started all this nonsense.
I drop down to 30 mg a day today, so maybe will stop chewing on the woodwork.
Soothing wishes on the way.
Jo

if you didn't have any obvious signs of infection, then hopefully it will clear up fast. in my almost-remission days, on no DMARDs, i had a raging cellulitis that landed me on antibiotics for 20 days total. (and just for kickers, as soon as it was cleared up enough to go back to bike-riding, my main exercise then, i wiped out and shattered my wrist!)
anyway, i hate to think what it would have been like on DMARDs. i'm glad they're getting on top of it now, before it gets any worse.
can you really sleep on benadryl? doesn't put me to sleep, just fogs in my brain even worse than fibro-fog. it wakes mike up.......

Rosemarie Shiver - 03 Feb 2006 17:45 GMT Oh, yeah, Nann,
Conks me right out. I don't get Fibro-fog. You know my brain's not normal. LOL
I'm 'sposed to do my MTX today for the week and I'm skipping it just in case. I'm 'llowed to take 3 Lodine a day so I think I'll do that to stave off the inflammation Beast.
No chance of my bike riding, Nann. :-)

LOL heh, i'd say mike's the one whose brain really isn't normal - as I say, benadryl wakes him up! (he took a tylenol pm sample we had one time - never again! lol)
i took otc benadryl for allergies once or twice, but the benadryl fog was just as bad as the severe allergy fog. swore off the stuff!
i guess for you it'll be an interesting battle between the pred energy and the benadryl lethargy............

(i'm trying to decide about this week's enbrel as a cold's been threatening. better today, so maybe i can do it a day late tomorrow.)
> No chance of my bike riding, Nann. :-) aw, shucks, it's fun! that's one of the things i really miss about gainesville - all those miles of bike paths. most of our roads up here don't even have paved shoulders and i just don't feel safe riding around here :-( (not that my thumbs have encouraged gripping the handlebars lately, but if i had the right conditions, i might try it!)

Sorry I didn't see this sooner, almost didn't have the computer on most of yesterday (visiting the doctor in Aspen - joys).
I'll be sending good vibes (and wishes to the ancestors) that this clears up quickly. Never had Cellulitis, but I'm sure if it's making *you* whine about it, then I would never stand up to it.
Many "purrs" (from the furbabies) that you don't get the hosp trip, that isn't any fun at all, a' tall.
