My pharmacy charged me $192 74  (wiped out my checking account) for 3
meds that Medicare D (Humana) was supposed to cover-- was I p_ss_d!
Humana told them to charge me that was the pharms response.....

All I know is that somebody royally screwed up entering informationan at
HUMANA.

That amt. is supposed to be credited BACK to my checkbook by the
pharmacy who  took that amount out!

$1-3 dollar co-pays--is what they should have been....Medicare
--medicaid--dual eligable

I told the pharmacy that if it wasn't straightened out I was leaving
them and going to Wal-mart!

I MEANT THAT TOO--DEAD SERIOUS

Sure as hell BETTER fix it--or I'm outta there

LEAVE IT TO SOMEBODY SOMEWHERE--TO SCREW SOMETHING UP!

Bonnie:  I may be missing something here, but can't understand how a
pharmacy could remove money from YOUR checking account.
When there is a dispute in my state about the coverage of Plan D, the
pharmacy has been told to fill the prescription and the state will
reimburse them.  This is supposed to tide people over until the
computers are up to date on the coverage.

they had my debit number---they ran that HIGH amount through without
telling me

I did'n't even know that they had charged me $192.74--until the meds
arrived in the mail (and looking at the receipt)--was expecting them to
take ONLY the co-pay amount out of the debit card......

You would think that the pharmacy would have did that--submitted it to
the state--nope--they hit the debit card (connected to checking account)
first......

They're in the process of reversing everything

what a ---- ing mess!

And people at the bank wonder why I refuse to have a debit card.  ATM card
OK, debit card no way.  I do not need anyone else playing in my checking
account.

My feelings exactly, Jo.  I received an ATM card a few years ago that
was also a debit card. After one problem with it, I went back to the
bank and requested a new card, ATM only.  You have a lot more safeguards
and control with a Credit card than you do with a Debit card.

lol mike won't even do atm cards!  talked him into trying one briefly in
boston, but after de-magnetizing 2 of them he gave up and just borrowed mine
from time to time.  since leaving there,we've not had one at all.

we also refuse debit cards, will only have credit cards with no annual fee
AND with a grace period on payments AND ample time between receiving the bill
and the payment-due date.  we're looking to ditch one card that no longer has
the last qualification, but haven't decided on our replacement yet.  for now,
we only use it in the rare instance when we need a credit card but Discover
isn't accepted.

I will definetly  SWITCH pharmacies tomorrow--as as me butt is outta
that bed

Thankfully the bank dropped 7 of the 8 fees for the bounced checks the
pharmacy caused by putting the $192.00 through

or I would have really been on the "hole" by $178 dollars.  I would have
had to pay the bank BIG TIME!

basically the offending pharmacy can shove it--and their pittance of
store credit.

Calling the doc tomorrrow---to have him reissue ALL prescription to
Wal-mart pharmacy.

I don't use a debit card for this very reason.  Once someone gets
money out it's hard as hell to get things back to normal.  Why not
write checks?

I'm thinking now:

to revolking the express pay option with the pharmacy in light of this
HUGE mistake,

and the pharmacy can BILL me--and I'll pay by check monthly--

Wonder is somebody @ pharmacy was trigger happy--and in a hurry didn't
use their head  I should have been called/alerted  before they ran it

They must have assumed I had the money--when I called after getting thr
receipt--I told them it was gonna bounce---I sure didn't have $192--to
cover that---I had less than that in my checkbook..

I JUST REVOLKED the  pharmacy use of my debit number,,,,,

They'll send a BILL with my meds.

It'll give me a chance to dispute high amounts--before I pay them!

Debit cards are useful, but you've got to be careful. You should also check
your account regularly. Between paying for my father's meds, my meds, our
supplies, food, etc., I'd probably be either lost or spending a LOT of time at
the ATM.

I also three accounts with my father plus another account and only have two of
the accounts accessible from the debit card. I keep those two accounts very low
and use on-line banking to transfer money to the debit card account when
necessary. That way, if someone does somehow get access to both my card and
PIN, they still can only get a little money.

It may seem odd, but it works and does seem to offer some protection.

My daughter had her account messed up with a debit card simply by a
restaurant charging her account for her bill and then again for someone
else's.  It was enough to make a couple of checks bounce and took a while to
find out what went wrong and get the money back in.

A debit card makes me feel like I'm walking around with a signed blank check
in my pocket.

ATM cards offer that extra layer of protection where I have to actually do
something and they are useable nearly everywhere a debit card is.

When I needed to start paying my mom's bills and keep track of her expenses,
I got a separate credit card in my name but with a card also issued to her
and one to my sister so they could buy what was needed but I could deal with
any account problems.  Kind of like giving a college kid a card in reverse.

well-- becaise of the pharmacy and Humama's Medicare D mess

I got the $192.74 back (electronically)--I was not handed the money

BUT.........BUT.........BUT.............BUT

I was facing $178..00 in over-draft fees --because of the little fiasco.
7 of the 8 bounced check fees were revesed by the bank.  I still have to
give the bank $29.50--

The store only wanted to give me  the $29.50 (Minus the $7 or so dollars
for the co-pays I would hve owed them)  in pharmacy/store credit--
NOTHING ELSE--

Like to tell THAT PHARMACY TO SHOVE IT!

It 's is NOT ENOUGH FOR TROUBLE THEY CAUSED ME!

They (pharmacy) wouldn't really learn from the mistake either

and it WAS partly the phamacy's  fault for not informing me of the large
amount (which I would NOT have approved)  AND Humama's fault.

i'd tell you to fight it, but it doesn't sound like you need anyone to tell
you that!  best of luck for some success in setting them straight.

I went to the  management at the pharmacy--told then to take the co-pay
dollars in--out of that $29.50 they offered

Told them they had already LOST a costomer

and left the store

Went the to Wal-mart and set things up there for my meds

O yeah --and called the doc when I got outta bed......lol

Bonnie
Bonnie Brien - 04 Feb 2006 17:12 GMT
Nor did I take the store credit offered (ONLY for the med co-pays the
rest of the $29.50, I refused the rest of thr credit) and walked out of
the store--for the snaffoo they caused by running that large amount thru
without my knowledge---some body was either button happy or GREEDY-- "Oh
goody! in a siingle sale I made $192.00!"

The pharmacy was----Shopko---

Never go bak there again if I can help it!

Bonnie,

Hope you get this mess straightened out soon. You might be concerned
however, that Humana and Wal-Mart are partners.

Also, there have been a LOT of foul-ups with Part D, it may take a few
months for it all to shake itself out and settle in to something useful.

Cheers         Lee O.

I have been very fortunate with Part D.  I had called Humana and gotten the
vital information for the pharmacy before my card came and they were ready
to fill my prescriptions I needed the first week of January.  I had to
change pharmacies because my good one I used didn't carry Humana then.  Now
they do, and I am transferring back, and am so happy that they now carry
Humana.

My pharmacy probably was not told that.....to bill the state.

Humana had told them to bill me the $192.74 according to the
pharnacy.....the pharmacy ran it through without telling me--because
they had the numbers of the debit card.

Pharmacy blames Humana--both are at fault IMO

Kinda nervous about the mess with my meds.  I can't even use my debit
card until this mess is cleared up--bank told me not  to use it for a
few days

All because of the mess with Humana AND the pharmacy that filled the
meds.

DAMN!
