Just a reminder that Feb 3 is National Wear Red Day.
Heart disease is the Number 1 killer of women - claiming the lives of nearly
half a million women each year.

The Go Red For Women campaign is creating a movement around the important
issues of women and heart disease.

On Wear Red Day, support Go Red for Women by wearing red and help raise
awareness about women and cardivascular diseases. You'll help the important
women in your life .... your mother, your daughter, your wife...yourself.

Thank you.  I just got back from the doctor's and this was the first thing I
read.

It couldn't have come at a better time.  I'm going to make major lifestyle
changes and buy a red dress.

I guess it wasn't so bad, now that I'm looking back.  Had some major vertigo
at work and assumed I had an ear infection... which I did (still do) in both
ears.  But I also found out my BP is through the roof.  Scared the heck out
of me, especially because I don't know how that is influenced by my
bradycardia.  Came home, looked at that website and gave up caffeine,
nicotine, processed foods and salt.  Told my employer I was cutting my work
hours back.  Increased my nighlty sleep from 2.5 hours to 6 hours (still
working on that one).  All in all, changed pretty much everything.  An added
bonus was a nine pound weight loss in the first four days (then it levelled
out).

I was supposed to get my recheck today, but am waiting for my regular
doctor.  I know I'm still not down to where I should be, but hopefully now
low enough to avoid meds.  It is scary to know that when the dr tells you
something is serious, you only need to look in the mirror to find the cause.
This is entirely self-induced, and while I am trying hard to change my
choices, a small part of me wants to just ignore it and keep living as I
have been.

Wow.. haven't talked that much for a long time.  Thanks for listening,

Janet N.

Always glad to hear how you are doing. I hope your BP is doing better now.
Mine is really low and bottoming out. So maybe we should get together and
between the two of us, we could get a normal reading. ;-)

I am glad to see you are doing what you can to help with the BP situation.

YOu take care ok and keep us posted to how it is going.

I meant to do this last year when I read an article in a magazine, but
I forgot.  This year I have the red sweater ready.

Thanks for the reminder.

You can also get a red pin dress there.  Being one of those women who
has congestive heart failure due to contracting a virus from a
co-worker, this is really very important.
