I just got diagnosed with osteoarthritis in my neck.  I have had
shoulder pain for years...recently it felt more neck pain plus the
shoulder muscle pain.   My previous rhemat. just shot me up with
steriod shots and no xrays...I changed rheum. and he did x rays...and
found out.. I am going to go to p.therapy soon..waiting for HMO.  I was
on plaquenil and mobic...which I got off plaquenil because I was
feeling better.  Boy was that a mistake.  I have a positve ANA and
nothing else shows up.  He redid the blood work so I hope something
comes up this time so I have a definate diagnosis.  My other
rheum...never really said..leaned more to RA not lupus when my family
doc thought lupus.  I have fatigue bad and musc/joint pain

Anyone out there with similar stuff?  I am only 33....I feel like an
old women!!!!    This sooo sucks!  I feel I need something to hold up
my head!!!  it hurts like heck.

Laters,

Sorry to hear of your pain.
I'm confused about whether you have osteoarthritis, RA, or both?
I hope you'll be able to find some relief.

I have osteoarthritis in my neck/spine and it's a literal pain-in-the-neck.
I was diagnosed at 26, but it went into "remission" (no symptoms, anyway) for
about 20 years.  I have a pinched nerve to my left arm, and I'm on the
coming-out side of a frozen shoulder now that started about a year ago.
Be sure to follow any medical advice you receive regarding exercises.
They do help somewhat.
