I am currently taking Enbrel, and my last RD determined it is no longer
working for me.  He would like me to start taking Humira.  So, here's
my question...  Did you start taking Humira the week after your last
Enbrel shot, or did you have to space them apart?  How soon after the
injection did you notice an improvement?

Thank you.

I switched to Humira, i don't remember how long beftween shots. i do
know the feeling I got from Enbrel of being better almost instantly i
never got from huimira. it seems to work fairly well but there is no
sense of wellbeing.

I just saw this post and thought I'd relate my experience.  I took Enbrel
for 2 years before it stopped working.  Yes, it did start working
immediately and it did take the pain away, but...Enbrel also gave me
Sarcoidosis, constant eye inflammations and an eye occlusion where I was
temporarily blind in one eye.

It did take Humira about a month to really work, but it's been great.  It
not only took the pain away, I don't have any eye problems at all and the
Sarcoid seems to have disappeared.  I've been taking it for over a year and
so far, I've had no noticeable side effects.   It also seems to have
lessened the fatigue a little more too.

Thank you sharing your experience.  I'm so sorry you had to go through
such a rough time.  I hope the Humira continues to work for you.

I have not stated Humira yet, as I am waiting to see a new rheumy.

Thanks again.

I  switched from Enbryl to Humira twice because  Enbryl seemed to work
better but getting Humira for free vs $230/month for Enbryl.  After
not doing so well on Humira, I went back to Enbryl and it didn't seem
to work as well as before.  So after paying for 3 months, I decided it
was in my head and went back to Humira.  I still take it once a week
but it doesn't seem to work as well or last as long.  Don't know if
it's in my head but I liked Enbryl better.

Good luck,
Joanne

I switched to Humira because Enbrel stopped working for me.  Humira
has never really been as good for me as Enbrel was and I am now taking
a double dose.  After 3 months of double doses I am gradually feeling
better.  Of course I don't know if the disease has progressed that
much more that it overcomes the Humira or the Humira just doesn't work
as good.

I switched from enbrel to humira and began the next week - no interruptions.
I was on humira every other week for 6 wks and then bumped up to weekly. I'm
doing better on the weekly dose and am happy with the results at the moment.
