A question about rice bran

Hi, I usually post to Alt.Med.Fibromyalgia, and I just try to live with
the arthritis, but it's reached a really unbearably painful stage.
Particularly my hips.  I've been taking hyaluronic acid for about a
year, and it really did help the knees, which just didn't want to bend
or bear weight at all, and now they are relatively pain free.  But the
hips are bringing me to tears.  So to the point of this post, I heard
an ad for something called Rice Bran, that is suppossed to be very
helpful for arthritis, all natural, no problems interacting with
prescribed drugs etc.  This is how I heard about the hyaluronic acid,
and I asked some friends and they raved about it, so I tried it now I
have asked them about the rice bran and no one has heard of it.  So I'm
posting here asking if any of you have heard of it, have tried it and
if you know if it's snake oil, or legitimately helpful.  At least the
HA had been used on horses for years, and had a track record (groan) of
helping animals even my vet recommended it.  But I've never heard of
this stuff before and probably would not have paid any attention if I
wasn't hurting so badly.  Any info on the stuff would be greatly
appreciated.  Thanking you in advance.--fran

Many doctors say that hidden (delayed) food sensitivities (allergies)
trigger many cases of arthritis. Talk to a naturopathic doctor (Yellow
Pages) or an alternative doctor (www.acam.org) about this.

Rice bran wont hurt you so give it a go.  Try to stay off sugar for
awhile - it is one thing that really makes my PA flare up.  Keep your
exercise up too.

I'm a diabetic so sugar is a no-no anyway, but I read in the Rice Bran
info that I found on line that it actually helps to regulate blood
sugar, so that would be even more reaon for me to try it.  Thanks, I am
going to try it.  I will post the results good, bad or indifferent, in
a month or so, and I appreciate the input I've received here.--fran
