Could someone help me with this. I "think" I remember seeing a post in
the past month or two about someone taking a new drug for Fibro. It
might be in the same class as Neurontin?
Does anyone remember who it was or what the med was? Thanks for any
help.

Deb, It is called Lyrica...I think that is the one you are talking about. I
haven't tried it yet. I hope and pray that this is something that will
really work for us.

Thanks Cindy! I believe thats the one. I'm going to do some research
into it and see if it might be something I could take.

I am using it for the neuralgia pain associated with the ms type side effect
I got from the enbrel. I wasn't sure if it was working but missed just one
dose one night and was crying until 5:30 in the morning. Never missed
filling a prescription again.

Kelly,
You might be the one that posted it. Do you have any side effects from
it and how much do you take? How are you doing? Inquiring minds want
to know. I hope you are still progressing.

I am not the one who posted (can't remember who it was) and am not taking it
for fibro. I have no side effects from it and am taking 75mg twice a day.
I am really not progressing very well. We are treating symptoms as they
arise, have switched from baclofen to zanaflex and will see if that will
stop the spasticity in the foot. I really find the 24/7 neuralgic pain hard
to take -and the meds leave me in a total daze but time will tell. They
keep telling me most people get better in 6 month to a year (of course still
don't know who most people are and what there treatment was. A mystery
ailment).
Anyhow I am rousing myself to go to a 50 birthday party for a friend
tonight. No booze but dressing up in 50's clothes and going to enjoy myself
for a couple of hours. Nice break.
Would be nice if the lyrica worked for fibro. It is not listed as a use yet
though that I can find.

Lyrica has also been approved for use with some types of epilepsy. Very
promising new stuff out there for lots of us.

I was put on it for Peripheral Neuropathy. It would be super if it helped
the Fibro as well as I have been in a flare since Nov. I only took it for 2
days when I had to stop for other medical reasons. I will be going back on
it next week.
