Me eldest sister had her tkr at the end of Septrember. She then
developed an infection was on IV abx, and eventually needed to have
another surgery to debride the area. She has since been on vancomycin,
had reguakr dressing changes and the whole regimen. She has now been
off antibiotics for only about a week, and again her incision is red
and infected. She made another trip to ER, was given more antibiotics
and needs to make daily trips to the hospital for more.

She is getting really frustrated as she has lost a great deal of ROM,
and really was better off before the surgery.

Prayers would be appreciated.

Rose,
I wish that this was going better - I can understand how frustrating it must
be for you and her.  Hopefully this will catch it this time.  Will be
thinking of her and sending prayers.  does the doctor that did the second
surgery know about this happening again?

Take care Rose,
Kelly

Not yet. This is a new thing, and with the holidays it is difficult.
Also her family doctor is away so that sort of makes it difficult.
There is a locum in and she will see him as soon as she can, bbut he
wont have the same history. The suregon really praised the way her
family doc has been dealing with this all along.

Thanks Kelly.
