400mg a day to keep me semi-functional while we try and work on the
blood some more. Then maybe we can tackle the spondyloarthropathy if we
can stabilise me again. Silly doctor changed three things in a two week
period against my objections... *sigh*

I'm going to die rather sooner than I'd like. I tried to protect my
neighbours from crime, and became the victim of it. Complications in
hospital following this resulted in a serious illness. I now need a bone
marrow transplant. Many people around the world are waiting for a marrow
transplant, too. Please volunteer to be a marrow donor:

Exactly. The thing is, he used to be the one pushing me to do only one
thing at a time (which is what you're supposed to do), even when my
counts were VERY low (like brain bleed or septicaemia from looking at a
dirty counter top low) and I wanted to do multiple things at once like a
shot-gun approach to try and get my counts up as quickly as possible by
any means necessary (if possible at all...my treatment ideas actually
brought my counts up but were after we'd exhausted his ideas and
conventional treatments). Now, he's panicking about the kidneys (which
are very important for being able to do a transplant - while my other
doctors aren't as alarmed) and wanting to change more than one thing in
too close proximity and over my objections. It's like we've both tried
to learn how the other one works in this doctor-patient relationship and
have switched styles. He was right originally, though, which is why I've
adopted his style which is what my rational and scientifically educated
mind was telling me this whole time, even when I desperately wanted to
do too much at once. It's very frustrating, especially since I was
transfusion independent for almost a quarter of a year for the first
time in 7 years! I had to have another double transfusion yesterday. I
am not in the best mood :-/

Yes, I use 200mgs of Celebrex a day.  I am also on 2 grammes of Sulphalazine
a day, and feel very good on it all.  The RD doesnt know which of the meds
are doing the trick, but he has never mentioned having a blood pressure
check since ive seen him.
Cheers
Stuart

I'd switched to bextra before all the brou-ha-ha.  Sure wish I could get the
B-stuff back again, but they won't even let us get it.  It and Feldene are
the only NSAIDs that have ever truly lasted 24 hours for me.

Diane, I've been on Celebrex for over 5 years - 400 mg/day.  I've added MTX
in the last couple of years.  Everything seems to be doing just
fine.....(where's that wood to knock on???)  I've never had bp problems.

Right now I'm battling the lastes cold virus brought home by the
13-yr-old....or could it have been the day I spent with him at the Jr.
High???  My dr. calls all schools a cesspool  of germs.  As a teacher I
agree!!!!

Hope you're doing better soon.

Merry Christmas to all!!!!

Diane, you wrote me awhile back when I was having the same thing going on
with my bp.Well,I was put on 1 instead of 2 per day, also went down on
the pred.from 7.5 to 5mg.Bp came down,anyway to make a long story
short,I'm back on celebrex twice a day and back up to the 7.5 pred and
bp is good, but I might add I'm also taking 12.5 of Maxzide
(diaretic),since this started.Carol

I use it everyday.  I would be a complete wreck without it

I was on Celebrex for about two years when it first came out.  My
rheumy put me back on it yesterday.  I'm feeling much better!

Take care,
