I'm not really counting the 23 hours I was out of the hospital -- cause
it just felt like a break. Nothing much going on. The doctors still
haven't reached a concensus but it looks like they are more leaning
towards the hematoma idea. A bleed from the blood thinners but nothing
to aspirate. Whew. Narrowly missed that one. Going to have an abdominal
ultrasound tomorrow to screen for a AAA (anurysm) since they run in my
family. The vascular guy treats other members of my family and is being
consciencious.  Nice guy. That's all. I'm here till Monday.  Slept a
lot today. Don't know why but I was very groggy. My joints are settling
down even without Enbrel.....interesting.  Hope you all are enjoying
lots of fun Holiday stuff....I'm sure missing it!  I'll be leaving my
tree up a long time this year!  LOL Cyberhugs ..... DianeW

are you getting used to that hospital food yet? what a crummy way to

(sp?). hope you DO get out tomorrow.

Not used to the food yet .. the mashed potatos and gravy are the best
but that's about it. Apple pies not too shabby either but that's not
every day.  I'm hoping they send me home tomorrow. The wound care
doctor thinks if I'm fine between now and the 26th, he doesn't see why
I can't go on the cruise. Of course, with warnings and such. And
walking in the 4 hour Tulum tour might not be the best thing to do but
that wouldn't be 4 hours total walking it includes the bus trip to and
from. And it's not until the 29th -- my birthday at that! So maybe just
maybe if I can get thru this week with no further complications and
spend the first 3 days of the cruise sitting in a deck chair with my
legs elevated I could go to Tulum and back to the ship to take up
residence on the deck or my room balcony.  I was already planning to
take my scooter with me so that will cut down the on ship
walking........I don't know. I guess I'll just have to take it day by
day and see what happens. I had already gone shopping in November and
bought any clothes I needed for the cruise. So.....We will see.  I'm
feeling good and my ankles are small :)  Cyberhugs...DianeW

may they send you home tomorrow!  It's been too long already.  As for the
food, heck after 3 days I was ready to get Mike to stop by and get me a take
out salad from a yummy local restaurant - eating hospital fare for this long
surely qualifies one for some kind of medal.

crossing my fingers and saying more prayers.......

Thank you for the update Diane.   Rest, rest,,, let the world slide by and
the doctors do their stuff.  Oooh by the way,,, thanks for the thought about
cleaning your bed rails,,, bathroom,,, ect. ect.   When it comes time for me
to be in your place,,, I will do the same.
In the prayers of many,

After I met all the people in my infectious disease docs office who
picked up MSRA in the hospital I couldn't rest without doing that.
Even when the nurses and aides saw me they said they would do the same
thing.  I clean everything I touch regularly with a clorox wipe that's
supposed to kill 99.9 percent of all bacteria after 10 seconds and it
doesn't even have bleach in it. Even though everyone wheres gloves if
there is something on their hands when they put them on......And then
theres the pagers and cell phones they answer all the time even with
gloves. Call me paranoid, but I don't need any more bugs!  Cyberhugs,
DianeW

Chalk the joints up to "small favors".  My joints usually do fairly well
when I have to quit my meds for surgery followed by bed rest.  My RD just
says bed rest is fine for RA, just not very practical.

Ain't that the truth!  I was thinking that maybe the abx might finally
be having a bit of an effect too. I know when I was on IV abx in the
spring, my joints were excellent for a while.  Cyberhugs, DianeW
