Well that wasn't a long reprieve. Got to go home and unpack, pay the
bills, take a shower and develop a bleed inside my right knee. The
lovonex apparently made my knee bleed and it swollen and hurts like
hell. Gravity drew the blood down into my foot and ankle as well.
It's lovely shades of purple don't ya know. So... here I am back are
MD Anderson. I'm on the same floor, different room but just as nice.
Different nurses but they still seem nice. I'll let you more after I
talk with the hemotologist. Cyberhugs..........DianeW

I believe they have medical care on those ships and can air lift out
by helicopter for emergencies.

yes they do and I did buy cruise insurance but was fast as these last
two things happened to me and as serious as they could have been if not
caught early is a bit daunting when I think of being out in the middle
of the ocean when it occured. Cyberhugs, DianeW

Yikes woman! As nice as the hospital is, it really isn't a luxury hotel and
not nearly as nice as a cruise. Sending healing thoughts your way as fast as
I can conjure them up.
Hugs,
Kelly C.

Diane,
I am sorry to hear this sweetie. you will remain in my prayers and thoughts.
Just a humorous thought here, I hope it brings a smile to you .
What did they do when you were in the hospital, put a yoyo string on you so
they can just pull you back in.
I hope you heal quickly and it is all taken care of soon. I am wishing you a
much better year this coming year.

Thank you everyone for the continuted well wishes and prayers. I can't
tell you how much I look forward to your positive thoughts on the
monitor when I come down here. I'm kicked out of my room for a bit
while they get me a new bed. They use air mattresses here and mine had
a terminal leak.
Well the pain in my leg is better today and I'm waiting for more blood
test results. My hemoglobin dropped from 12 last night to 9.7 this am
so I'm being closely monitored now with orders for whole blood should
it go to 8. I've never had blood before. They did a CT scan of my leg
which lasted all of 5 minutes. Should get those results laster tonight.
I feel pretty good all in all. If I could just stay this way and have
my blood tests straighten out. Lets see my PT/INR needs to be 2.0 and
my hemoglobin needs to be above 10. So simple right? Well I'm going
to head back to my room and clorox clean my new bed
rails.......Cyberhugs to all! DianeW

Well, shoot, girl!!! What a major bummer to have to go back so
quickly.
Praying that this all gets straightened around and that you can still
get home and recoup a bit and then go on vacation and just enjoy
yourself for a change. You certainly need that and deserve that!!!
Prayers ongoing!!!
Keep us posted dear friend!

Diane - Good news on the numbers front. The hgb is back up to 10.6 so
that's acceptable. And my PT seems to have stablized as well. Two out
of four doctors agree that the right leg problem is a hemotoma -- the
other two say it's more cellulitis. Of course, I can't get to talk to
them all at once. Too bad it's not like House where they all get
together and brainstorm. A vascular surgeon popped in today briefly
and said he'd come by tomorrow. He was waiting for the helicopter to
bring in his next patient who had a ruptured anurysm. Boy makes my
probems seem minor. We were talking nicely about what my leg swelling
could be from and how my wounds were progressing when outside the
window is the chopper and off he goes. He said he'll be back tomorrow.
When I saw him a few years ago he found no physical reason for the
swelling in my legs. Idiopathic. Maybe we'll have better luck this
time. So I guess I'm here for the weekend. Today makes the 9th day
here. I'm not even counting the day I left cause I was gone less than
24 hours! Time to shower. read the mail and pay bills. And unpack and
pack.
Well the right wound was bleeding a lot today so I have to keep it
elevated. No sitting here for long periods of time. And I have a new
bed. :) Very comfy.
And about the cruise ... I've pretty much given in to the fact that I'm
not going. Just too risky. This has all come up so fast each time in a
matter of hours. I just really don't want to take that risk. Tulum has
been there for centuries......it will be there when I'm well enough to
enjoy it without endangering myself.
Oh --I've started another one of your books and it's keeping me great
company! Can''t think of the name! But it's about the sister who's
murdered at the shore? Anyway --- nice to have you onboard!
Cyberhugs ...DianeW
