Hopefully I get to go home today. My GP ok'd it but we have to wait for
the ID so sign off on it I'm going to get my IVIG today here in the
hospital and that will take till about 3pm so if I do go it will be
late. But it will be good to be home. It will be especially good to
take a shower! LOL Hopefully next post will be from my own computer.
They let me sleep last night so I got about 6 straight hours of sleep
only waking up for the bathroom. Feeling MUCH better today! Sleep
isn't vauled in the hospital, that's for sure! Hope everyone's having
a great day! I'm way behind on Christmas now! I guess my baking isn't
going to happen this year :(

I've been following your updates, but not posting support, so let me
apologize for that lapse on my part.
This is splendid news! Isn't sleep wonderful? Don't you just want to
smack them when they wake you for blood pressure, pulse, respiration
checks? I've been in hospital for extended periods a couple of times,
and that always irritated me (not so much as the morphine OD, which
wasn't irritating as I recall, just relaxing - hahahaha).
I'll keep crossed what will cross for you to go home today. Don't
worry too much about the baking. I'd bet people will just be happy to
have you there for the holidays, I know I would be.
Be well.

Looking forward to the email from home and let the baking go if it causes
you the slightest stress. It will make them think of your value to the
season.
Merry Christmas

Diane, it is much more important for you to feel good than to do Christmas
baking. I'm sure your family will like that much better also. Hope you
will get to go home tyhis afternoon.

Well I'm still here -- Tomorrow I'm really going to pin the gp down. ID
wrote discharge orders. The GP wrote orders for blood work in the am so
that was my first clue that I probably wasn't going home. In
retrospect, he didn't actually say I was going home but talked around
my going home and told me what my orders were going to be when I did.
As it turned out it was probably for the best since the IVIG made me
very nauseaus this time and it was better just to lay in bed than
having to move around. Till tomorrow.... Cyberhugs DianeW

Hello Diane: I'm just now reading the posts and trying to catch up.
Very sorry to hear you have to be in the hospital, but it does seem the
best place to be at this point so you get better fast. I hope you will
be able to come home tomorrow so you can get some good food and some
sleep.

Oh, I hope you get to go home today. It makes such a difference just being
able to sleep in your own bed. BTW, if you ever have to go in again, you can
ask your doc to specify no vital signs for a period of time during the night
so you can sleep for a while. If he doesn't feel it's necessary to have them
wake you up, he can write that in the orders and you can get some sleep. We
used to do it a lot, but docs rarely do it without patients asking.
Don't worry about the baking - just get well enough to make the cruise! We
want to live vicariuosly through you and I'm already looking forward to the
pictures!

Di,
I am sorry you can't get home yet. I sure hope you are healing some, and
quickly too. You have had to deal with this too long now. Wishing the best
outcome for you and that you are able to go home today.
