Yes and yes, but then I don't really think we get to blame lipitor for
Charlie losing his hair.  LOL.

Wonder if grape seed extract would help.

No I'm not on Lipitor. Yes I am going bald.  It's only scary when I walk
past a mirror.

to be bald in a month if this keeps up.

My wife says I'm too sarcastic, I'm glad you saw the humor.

Diane,

I'm not on lipitor, but mine's falling out like crazy. I think it's
stress.

You wouldn't have anything like moving, househunting, deadlines, a sick
boyfriend to take of and a new puppy in your recent past, would you?
<ducking>

I'm gonna give the grape seed extract a try. Thanks Jo :)

definitely high on the stress-o-meter this year, kimmy, but i really do
think it's lipitor + arava + menopause. when i got my first
prescription of lipitor and read the hair loss side effect, i said a
bad word. i knew on top of the arava, i was doomed, but it's happening
so fast. the back of my hair looks great, so i just need a frontal wig.
do they make them?  :-)

The grape seed etract worked wonders for me in stopping my hair loss.  And
mine is thing anyway so I rally needed help.  I used to get lots when I
washed my hair, now hardly get any at all.  However, my hair grow faster
now; a perm really doesn't last long enough!

I'm on lipitor but I'm not going bald.  Then again, I was losing hair fairly
fast before lipitor thanks to the then mtx-Arava DMARD mix so I was hitting
the grape seed extract to help that hair loss already.  Do you take any?
Grape seed extract and Biotin also can help.  I've seen a big change in my
hair loss - I could spare some because my hair is so blasted thick, but I was
so exhausted with cleaning it up!  Much nicer now.

ummmmm, let me go check my box......

Ok, Biotin is 1500mcg/day.  When my mom's derm told her about it, she said,
"take one pill and if that doesn't do it, try two."  This was more about
fingernails splitting, but it helps hair as well.

Grape seed extract is one 30 mg capsule/day.  That's how they sell it at WM
(actually, I think it's called "Grape Seed Plus", though I forget what the
plus is.)

I take standardized grape seed extract.  Was taking two 50 mg tablets a day,
but found 100 mg tablets at Sam's, so now only have to take one a day.

thanks gwen and nann. i saw the doc today. she doubts it's medication
induced. says it's hereditary. i have lots of hair in back and not much
on the sides and front. said rogaine is the only hope. i told her about
grape seed extract and she said it couldn't hurt, so i'm going to get
some. sigh.

I forget the details, but Harv has mentioned that his daughter had some hair
loss troubles, I think while in college, and that biotin and grape seed
helped a lot.  I've got my fingers crossed for you.

Really?  I gotta look at Sam's the next time we get over/down to one.
(nearest is 120 miles away)  I haven't seen it there in the past.
