Is a headache--trying to figure that out!  It's gonna create a gap
(until one gets enrolled in a drug plan).

Wouldn't hurt to see if your docs can't give you a 3-month supply to get
you through  until you are enrolled in your chosen medicare part D drug
plan....

I had been told to do this (by the county medicaid medical social
worker--when I was switched to the medicaid program a year ago in my
county--because there was gonna be a gap in coverage--

I'm doing this again (because there may be a gap in coverage again
because of medicare part D) and also so I don't get stuck without my
meds.

1) Spoke to the Doc's nurse about getting extra pills--she'll look into
that

2) Psychiatrist is going to phone in December pills (klonopin) and she
gives me my Lexapro in 2-week punch out packs

3) Maybe GYN can get me more Detrol LA samples--will cal him up.  When I
was first scribed it he gave me (6) 1 week packs

4) Two of my other pills can get over the counter cheap at Family Dollar
$2--$3/pack

Damn mess (medicare part D policies that wil be covering meds) is
confusing to figure out

Government could have made the process easier--but like TAXES--it's
harder and confusing....scarey if you don't have your medications

Look into the plan that the gov't assigns you to male sure it covers
what you need.....and that you are not paying too much out-of-your-
pocket

I have been researching plans on the Medicare site tonight, and either plan
I look at is still going to be expensive!
That "doughnut hole" really messes things up!

Oh good!  I hope it does you some good, too.  That "drug plan" is such a
prime example of a committee compromise!  what a mess.

Now workin' on getting meds filled again before Medicaid  won't pay for
them

Get meds filled before the end of December--so that Medicaid will still
pay for them for December.

I had help with the research--we have a service coordinator in our
building.  We go to her if we residents need any help

There are no premiums--Just a $1-$3 Co--pay on the Part D policy I
enrolled in.

Yep the whole process (of finding the right policy for you) is indeed a
M-E-S-S-!

It's because there are so many plans to research and choose

Bonnie, do you mind telling who you enrolled with?

Again--it depends on the meds YOU take....my chosen plan may not fit
YOUR medication needs
______________________________________

The Gov't pick (Dean Care Rx) for me didn't cover two needed meds---one
of them would have cost me $20.  They would have automatically enrolled
me in the above--had I NOT picked my own plan BEFORE January 1st.

MY pick,......HUMANA
Gwen Love - 10 Dec 2005 02:19 GMT
I've been looking at Humana because they still cover drugs during the
doughnut hole, but the premium is very high.
There's no deductible at the beginning either.  Can't quite convince myself
it is a good deal for me.

I guess your situation may be different the mine.....or it may depend on
which plan you're looking into

Choose VERY carefully for your Medicare Part D plan
