I am up to my neck in boxes. Nearly every drawer is now
empty. We still have no place to move to but hope by
next week that problem will be solved. Jen has been
running around for us. We have been getting notes on
each house rental that looks promising. The best
sounding one, Jen reported had 20+ steps to get from
the driveway to the front door. No thank you. We don't
need to be as picky for the rental as for one we would
buy, but I really don't want steps if I can help it.
We should be in California by Dec. 17th. The house
closing is on the 15th and we are getting the movers to
ship the car. We are flying.
My brother asked me what my new phone number was and
when I told him we didn't even have a place to live yet
he responded in horror "you are not homeless like
Robin". Not exactly I say. Poor cousin Robin -- still
stuck in the 70's.
Mold remover guys are coming tomorrow. Wish I could get
to sleep.
Scanned all the messages and prayers going to those
that have asked.

Moving is a pain--mental, physical and every other way--but what a joy when
you finally get settled.  Praying that all works out the way it is supposed
to--and NO STEPS---{{{{{Duckie}}}}

duckie, there's no point in my telling you to take it slow and only do
what you can easily do each day, because i know it's impossible. i'll
tell you, tho, the move set me back quite a ways on my foot and ankle,
so please do be careful. you've gotta keep those dancin' feet healthy!

thinking of you,

I second that. What's that saying. Slow and steady wins the race.

Hang in there!

I know it's hard to take it easy when you are moving, but find some cute
studmuffins to help :)  I'll be saying prayers that all goes well.
Shipping the car is a good idea as the mountains will be very snowy and
icy now. When I moved out here, it was June and it was a nice drive
across the country. But I wouldn't do it in December :))

Don't forget to relax :)

Good news, the next month or so will be crazy and not much fun.
Check in when you can, good luck with those CA prices. -- MZ

Well Duckie, since you are up to your neck in boxes, just duck down and ship
yourself on out here. ROFL ;-)

I sure hope everything goes well with the closing and with your move. I sure
hope you find a place soon out here.

We will have to get together sometime once you get settled in out here.
Probably in the spring or such. I would love to meet you.

Ah, Duckie, I don't envy you one bit!  Moving is a hassle indeed, though
we've gotten better at it than I ever planned to be!  LOL

Praying that all goes as smoothly as possible.  Try not to overdo TOO much,
OK?

We may be in Boston in May for a conference back at the school - shame I
won't be able to run up to Burlington to visit you, but I know you won't miss
living through those nor'easters
