bloodwork - weird results?

Not really sure what to say, or how to say it other than to just say it.
My blood work from the rheumatologist came back... weird.
I have "reactive lymphocytosis" and "thrombosis" as well as elevated
platelet count and high white blood cell count.

Also in thyroid world my TSH is too low and my T4 is too low. Normally
if my TSH is low my T4 would be high if my thyroid meds were too high.
This is a weird combo that could mean a pituitary issue.

The first part of the results basically means my T cells are high and
they are shaped oddly. Don't know why. My body is trying to fight
something, and we don't know what. I need to go see the doctor and see
what's going on. The numbers were high enough to indicate something
fairly serious is probably happening, but not as high as leukemia, which
would be like 10,000. (mine were at 5800)

So. There it is.

I've been feeling like hell for a few weeks, have been noticing that I
don't look well, that my skin has looked bad and my eyes have looked
dull and shadowy. And I've had extreme fatigue and nausea along with a
generalized feeling of "something is wrong" in my gut. I have a
suspicion but I am not going to verbalize it here until I know anything
for sure. I told Tish and will see what the docs say.

I'm taking good care of myself, my mom is checking in regularly, and
Tish is keeping a close eye on me and taking good care of me. She's
making sure i eat, despite my lack of appetite. I will be ok, and will
let you guys know what the doc says :)

Aim:  Sounds a bit like mono or epstein barr virus from the symptoms
alone.  I'm sure you will follow up with your doc, but try not to
anticipate "bad" stuff.  Good luck.

Ask for clarification regarding the high thrombocyte count. Did the test
say thrombocyte or thrombosis? The former is a type of blood cell, the
latter is a blood clot. You need the former to form the latter. If
you're developing clots too easilly this is a serious risk factor for
DVTs and osteonecrosis, among other unpleasant things. What was your
platelet (thrombocyte) count at?

Cheers,

Ari

I'm going to die rather sooner than I'd like. I tried to protect my
neighbours from crime, and became the victim of it. Complications in
hospital following this resulted in a serious illness. I now need a bone
marrow transplant. Many people around the world are waiting for a marrow
transplant, too. Please volunteer to be a marrow donor:

Aim, I dont know what all the abbreviations are, but you dont sound too
chipper.
All I can say is, is that I ALWAYS fear the worst, I always have, but (as
yet!) the worst has never happened.
At least you are having regular checks and can keep on top of what is
happening to you and get it treated early, which is a big plus.
I wish you the very best,
Cheers,
Stuart

ah, Aim, it all sounds nasty.  You're efinitely battling something there.
Hopefully you and your doc can get on top of it quickly.  And having the
houseguest from hell out of your place can only help!

give Tish an extra hug from me and tell her thanks for taking care of you.
Do keep us posted!  When do you see the doc?
